Upload any statement
CSV, TSV, XLSX, XLS, XLSB, ODS or a text-based PDF — export from your bank and drop it in. Messy preamble lines above the table are fine.
Free · no ads · no sign-up needed to look around
Drop in any bank statement — CSV, Excel or PDF — and SelfBudget finds the real transactions, redacts the sensitive numbers, and turns the mess into a clear picture of your spending. No ads, no data selling. All we ask in return is feedback.
[redacted] before they’re savedInteractive demo — entirely made-up data
Press play and watch a fake upload end to end: SelfBudget “uploads” a made-up statement, redacts the account number, sort code, card and email one at a time, then shows the dashboard that comes out — where every suggested category is yours to relabel.
Ready — nothing has been uploaded anywhere.

A simulation inside your browser — it pretends to upload a made-up statement, so no real file is involved.
Spending by category — relabel a row below to move its money
No account number. No card number. No email. Just the shape of your money — with categories you get to relabel.
Three steps
CSV, TSV, XLSX, XLS, XLSB, ODS or a text-based PDF — export from your bank and drop it in. Messy preamble lines above the table are fine.
Card & account numbers, IBANs, emails and phone numbers become [redacted] before anything is saved. Then the real header row is found and every row becomes a typed transaction — date, merchant, amount, balance.
Income vs. spending, categories with suggested labels you can edit, refunds flagged, month-by-month trends, merchants to drill into — all on your own timeline.
Your bank data is the one thing we ignore
Most budgeting apps keep every detail you upload and make money from it. SelfBudget is built the other way around: sensitive identifiers are removed before anything is stored, raw files are never kept, and your account is private by default.
Card numbers, account numbers, IBANs, emails and phone numbers are replaced with [redacted] before a single byte is written to the database.
Your upload is parsed in memory and the temporary copy is deleted immediately. Only the scrubbed, interpreted rows remain.
Logging in exists so your statements stay visible only to you. Every query is scoped to the owning account — nothing is shared unless you explicitly share a statement, and then only with the person you picked.

All we ask is feedback. Tell us what’s confusing, what’s broken, or what you’d love to see next — every note is read, and it’s exactly what keeps SelfBudget free.
